5 Ways to Enjoy the Holiday Season More!

The holiday season is now in full swing, but do you have the energy to keep up? For many of us, the steady stream of parties, get-togethers, gifts to buy, and errands to run leaves us feeling downright exhausted. But, that doesn’t have to be the case. With a few stress-reducing strategies, you can take the season in stride and actually have fun.

Here are a few tips to help keep life in check when there’s too much to do and too little time.

  • Have a Plan

It’s easy to get overwhelmed quickly when you have halls to deck, gifts to buy, gingerbread cookies to make, and holiday events to attend. Before you know it, you can find yourself facing a booked calendar and not a minute available to simply enjoy the season. By keeping a daily and weekly calendar of to-do items, you can better manage your time. Start each day with a glance of what’s on the plan, and do your best to stick to it.

  • Just Say No (sometimes!)

Invites and obligations abound this time of year. It can be dizzying to try and do everything. And, guess what? You don’t have to! Pick and choose only those events you truly want to attend, and graciously decline the others. You’ll buy yourself some much-deserved downtime and just may enjoy the holidays more when you’re not hopping from place to place.

  • Be a Kid Again

Think back to how you celebrated the holidays when you were young. Did you go window shopping with your mother in the city to look at all of the decorations? Do you have happy memories of baking holiday cookies? Whatever brings you back to those carefree times, incorporate them into this season. Why not make snow angels in a fresh dusting of snow? Often, acting like a kid can rekindle the joy of the season and help minimize stress.

  • Take Time to Give

Giving back to your community through donations and volunteering can be incredibly beneficial to your well-being. Don’t diminish the power of giving and take advantage of opportunities you receive to make a difference for others. It will make a difference in your life, too!

  • Stay Focused on Nutrition

It’s easy to lose track of a healthy diet when you’re surrounded by holiday treats, multi-course meals, and calorie-laden cocktails. In fact, it’s a recipe for quick weight gain! Of course, it’s ok to indulge a little this time of year. However, too much indulging can make you feel tired and sluggish – not good when you’re juggling a busy schedule. Your energy level is directly related to what you’re consuming, so it just makes sense to keep a balanced diet as much as you can.

Having difficulty fitting in enough fruits, vegetables, fiber, and protein? A Lean1 shake is a great way to get the nutrients you need when you’re on a busy schedule. It’s an on-the-go, meal in a cup that will keep you feeling satisfied and on your game all season long.
